Four Promises That Should Make Parents Walk Away
The education industry has a promise problem. A field guide to the four claims that reliably signal trouble — and what trustworthy providers show you instead.

“Guaranteed admission”
No provider controls an admissions committee. A guarantee either hides fine print you'll discover at refund time, or prices rejection into the fee. Either way, you are paying for confidence theatre, not education.
“Guaranteed publication”
Real research risks failure — that's what makes it research. When publication is promised upfront, the journal is usually chosen for its acceptance rate, not its standing. Admissions tutors know these journals by name.
The professor nobody meets
Famous-university branding with unnamed mentors is the oldest trick in the industry. If the person teaching your child cannot be named before you pay, the brand is doing the work the mentor should.
The price nobody will say
“Add us on WhatsApp for pricing” is sometimes just sales process — and sometimes a sign the price changes with your postcode. The tell is whether structure is transparent even when numbers are discussed privately: what is included, what is not, and what happens if you pause.
What to look for instead
- Published milestones you can see before paying
- Deliverables defined in writing: portfolio, report, demo, record
- Named people, real schedules, honest timelines
- A provider willing to say “that's not realistic” to your face
We wrote this guide because we compete in this industry and would rather compete on work than on promises. Judge us by the same four questions.
